Overview:

We are seeking a
Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

with strong
SQL engineering expertise

and
AWS RDS

experience to join our team. This role focuses primarily on
SQL development and optimization

, rather than traditional server maintenance. You'll work closely with engineering and data teams to design, implement, and maintain robust, high-performance data solutions using
Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL)

on
AWS RDS

.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support application performance through efficient database design and indexing strategies.
  • Maintain and enhance AWS RDS-hosted SQL Server environments.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues using query tuning and execution plan analysis.
  • Implement and maintain data integrity, security, and compliance standards.
  • Participate in data modeling and architecture discussions.
  • Support ETL processes and data integration strategies when needed.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to database systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a DBA or SQL Engineer, with a strong focus on
    SQL development

.
- Deep expertise in
Microsoft SQL Server

and
T-SQL

.
- Hands-on experience managing databases in
AWS RDS

environments.
- Solid understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Familiarity with database design, indexing, and normalization best practices.
- Experience with automation and scripting for database operations is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with other AWS services (e.g., Lambda, S3, CloudWatch).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for database changes.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, finance) is a bonus.
