The Mission

Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank's gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING's clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

Within FM, in Competitive Pricing area, we have ING Pricing Architecture (IPA) asset, which consists of multiple components that enable real-time and batch calculations of financial risk metrics and simulations (e.g. XVA, PFE, Value at Risk, Expected Shortfall, Bilateral Margining, pre-deal derivatives Pricing) which are driven by new banking regulations as well as advanced Risk analysis on the derivative product portfolio of Financial Markets (interest rates, credits, foreign exchange). This asset is in the heart of the IT landscape for our global dealing rooms and risk managers in Asia, Europe and Americas, with aprox. 30 scrum teams spread across 4 locations (Amsterdam, Brussels, Bucharest and Singapore), cooperating to evolve it towards target ING Financial Markets IT vision.

IPA DMD (Derived Market Data) component is responsible for delivering end-of-day (EOD) and historical market data to support key processes such as PnL, VaR, Stress Testing, SIMM, and others. This data is both validated and enriched, with enhancements that may include bootstrapped curves, proxy data for illiquid instruments, or proxies for data gaps. To enable these enrichments, DMD also implements and maintains a range of proxy tools. In addition to EOD and historical market data, DMD supports intraday position keeping process by collecting and providing intraday/live market data.

As IT Business Analyst, you will work closely with business users and your squad, providing analysis and support for different technical and functional deliveries. Our team is driven by a customer perspective and fosters a diverse and contemporary workplace.

Your day to day

Even if you'll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office's garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. The following will be the main responsibilities of the role:

• You are the linking pin between the IPA DMD's Business or IT stakeholders and the development team.
• You identify, analyze and specify business/ IT requirements and translate them into to-the-point user stories or functional specifications/design. You do this based upon requirements from Business, IT or Customer Journey experts
• Clearly formulate and write product requirements, data requirements and user stories, including explicit acceptance criteria for engineers to meet (test andamp; validate)
• Enable the Product Owner to manage the work stream, its deliverables and the timelines and status updates.
• Define data quality rules and define ways to measures this with the team to proactively identify potential impact on our stakeholders
• Test whether developed software meets the requirements and help improving the automated (regression) test frameworks
• Support users with investigations on business flows and defects that they encounter during testing
• Present delivered stories to stakeholders during sprint reviews
• Facilitate knowledge sharing between squad members
• Continuously improve the delivery process by identifying inefficiencies and taking initiative to drive proposals for remediation
• Maintain functional and technical documentation up to date and easily available within the area

What you'll bring to the team

• Experience:

• 5+ years as Business Analyst in Financial Markets and/or Treasury

• Skills / knowledge:

• Mandatory:

  • Experience with financial markets products, trade data (instruments and product types)
  • Experience in risk management
  • Experience with financial markets regulations
  • In-depth experience with data query languages (SQL)
  • Experience with data analysis tooling such Python/Pandas, Excel
  • Experienced in Agile/Scrum way of working
  • In-depth experience in refinement and translation of user requirements
  • Is innovative to be able to convert market developments and customer feedback in his/her field of expertise into vision and strategy for WB Tech andamp; ING
  • Strong "business sense" combined with the ability to research new topics to develop insights and drive actionable results.
  • Strong analytical and literacy skills with attention to details
  • You are communicative, accurate and able to work with challenging deadlines
  • You are proactive and able to work in cross-border international teams
  • Affinity with IT and technology

  • Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with BABOK Guide (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge)

  • CBAP certification (Certified Business Analysis Professional)
  • Experience with tooling for creating diagrams (MS Visio, )
  • Foreign languages: English (excellent level)
  • Education: Completed education at Bachelor/Master level in Economics, Finance or Computer Science and the like
