Your new role and environment.

The Solution Architect will work closely with the Customer & Digital Platform team, which is responsible for delivering digital solutions for Ahold Delhaize Group.

As Architect within the product team, you will guide a remote development team in the design, coding, testing and maintenance of Ahold Delhaize's regional digital business solutions based on API's and SAP Commerce (Hybris).

You will translate requirements created by product owners into architectural and design artifacts. The development team will use these artifacts to implement the solution. The Solution Architect will drive the selection of the most appropriate technical design for the stated business requirements.

You will also have to coach remote development team members and stay up-to-date with best practices and innovations in the market. This function is essential to realize the evolution of our digital business in line with our IT strategy and to master knowledge of the applications and processes internally.

Key responsibilities of your role.

• Oversees the architectural aspects of digital platform projects, ensuring adherence to Ahold Delhaize Group technical standards
• Guides remote Scrum teams of developers and testers, conducts regular reviews and provides direction across frontend, backend, and mobile architecture domains to ensure alignment with quality standards and project goals
• Coordinates planning sessions with IT and business stakeholders to align business objectives with architectural strategies of Ahold Delhaize Group IT
• Promotes delivering a re-usable, configurable, multi-format, multi-channel ecommerce platform that is rolled out in multiple countries
• Promotes modernization within Scrums teams by facilitating the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and methodologies
• Maintains a comprehensive understanding of platforms technical landscape to provide effective leadership in all areas of solution architecture
• Follows applicable standards and methodologies, helps to establish architectural best practices and ensures that digital development guidelines are adhered to by all team members
• Provides planning input by means of complexity assessments and drives effort estimations to allow product or project managers to materialize the project based on agile methodology
• Partners with peers when integrating functionalities across applications and/or modules, ensuring a coherent application design as a result

Requirements.

We think you'll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology sciences, or any other discipline of technical orientation
• Extensive experience in leading solution architecture teams in complex environments
• Proven experience with SAP Commerce (Hybris)
• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring framework and familiarity with , React Native, GraphQL and Bloomreach CMS and experience in development of digital business applications (related professional certifications are desirable)
• Experience in cloud architecture, with a solid understanding of AWS and Azure platforms (related professional certifications are desirable)
• Ability to create detailed architecture and design artifacts suitable for technical teams, strong knowledge of design patterns and excellent object-oriented software design skill
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
• Good working and hands-on knowledge of Databases concepts
• Project development and delivery experience of a few good size projects
• Web services (SOAP, REST)
• Test driven development (Junit, Mockito)
• Good knowledge of peripheral tools (Git, JIRA, Confluence, Ant, Maven)
