THE ROLE INVOLVES:

We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our customer's small but global Private Cloud Platform team.

In this role, you will help design, build, and operate modern platform services that empower development teams across their organization. The focus will be on Kubernetes in on-premises environments (OpenShift experience is a strong plus).

You will be expected to actively contribute to the technical feasibility evaluations in collaboration with the product teams, engineering teams and infrastructure teams to determine the technical approach and action plan and to ensure the services operate at a high-quality level.

Responsibilities:

• Take a hands-on role in developing and maintaining the engineering platform services that support our customer's private cloud ecosystem.
• Provide and improve infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps tools, and platform standards for their internal customers.
• Lead and support the migration of legacy systems to containerized platforms.
• Partner with technical leads, product owners, and developers to shape the future state of our platform architecture.
• Monitor and troubleshoot critical services, ensuring timely resolution of production issues and driving preventive actions.
• Design and co-architect new services with resilience, scalability, and self-healing by design.
• Actively participate in specific ceremonies and engineering forums to ensure alignment across teams.
• Continuously improve platform services to enhance automation, observability, and operational efficiency.

TECHNICAL PLAYGROUND:

• 5+ years of experience as a Senior Platform Engineer or similar role.
• Strong hands-on expertise with on-premises Kubernetes (OpenShift experience is a strong plus).
• Proficiency in Linux administration (RHEL) and scripting (Bash; Python is a plus).
• Solid understanding of infrastructure automation (Ansible, GitOps, CI/CD pipelines).
• Experience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and ensuring reliability of critical production systems.
• Good grasp of networking fundamentals (firewalls, load balancing, DNS, TLS, security).
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals.
• Ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Practical experience with Red Hat OpenShift in bare-metal or virtualized environments.
• Familiarity with observability and logging platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Splunk).
• Exposure to migration projects from legacy to containerized platforms.
• Understanding of cloud-native and DevSecOps practices.
• Awareness of software and cloud development trends.
• Understanding of financial services and risk management.
• A degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field.
