About the Role

We're looking for a
SQL BI Engineer
to join the Portfolio Risk Management Team, within our client's team — a global United States financial services firm.

This team develops predictive tools that assess investment portfolio performance and risk. You'll work alongside 3 Python Engineers and a Scrum Master in an Agile environment, collaborating closely with U.S.-based counterparts in a technically advanced and data-driven context.

The role focuses primarily on debugging and enhancing an existing Python-based application, supporting data operations and analytics, and maintaining business intelligence reports using Power BI.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team to support predictive analytics solutions.
  • Perform debugging and maintenance activities on existing applications built in Python.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and Power BI dashboards.
  • Support data integration and transformation processes in collaboration with Python engineers.
  • Ensure adherence to good software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
  • Partner with the Portfolio Solutions & Analytics (PSA) and Enterprise Risk teams to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Engineer, preference to Databricks, and hands on experience with Power BI.
  • Strong command of SQL (query optimization, relational database design, stored procedures).
  • Good knowledge of Power BI (report creation, data modeling, DAX), and SRSS.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Self-starter attitude with attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Azure Databricks or other cloud-based data engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with Python and debugging in Python-based applications.
  • Background in the asset management or investment domain.
