Our Sales teams help to deliver Reckitt's purpose by building shared success with our customers, making access to the highest quality hygiene, wellness, and nourishment possible in-stores and online. Within Sales, we're focused on achieving outperformance across all of our channels, operating in highly competitive categories. This focus results in a dynamic, fast paced environment where cross functional teams are encouraged to collaborate to achieve success. We have around 10,000 sales people across the world, within market roles and ranging in areas like Field Sales, Key Accounts, Trade Marketing and Category Development.
About The Role
As Area Sales Manager, you will lead and execute Reckitt's commercial strategy within the traditional trade grocery channel, ensuring strong distributor partnerships, perfect store execution, and delivery of Net Revenue targets. The role is pivotal in driving in-store excellence, optimizing trade investments via IMS, and ensuring sustainable growth across the assigned territory. In this role you will cover Bucharest and its area and you will report to the Channel Head Grocery.
Your responsibilities
- Deliver Net Revenue (NR) targets through effective distributor management and in-market execution.
- Ensure full coverage and availability of Reckitt portfolio across priority outlets.
- Drive weighted distribution and focus on high-potential stores to maximize ROI.
- Manage IMS budgets and ensure optimal allocation of trade spend.
- Track and report Return on Trade Investment (ROI) for all activations.
- Provide financial input into forecasting, planning, and monthly business reviews.
- Ensure compliance with Reckitt's Perfect Store standards (availability, visibility, pricing, and planogram).
- Monitor and improve Share of Shelf and Planogram Compliance.
- Lead execution of promotional plans and measure Promotional Uplift.
- Provide weekly and monthly performance reports with actionable insights.
- Coach and develop field sales teams and distributor sales force.
- Conduct regular market visits and performance reviews.
- Build strong relationships with key retailers and distributors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Trade Marketing, Finance, and Supply teams.
The experience we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in FMCG sales, preferably in traditional trade.
- Strong understanding of IMS, NR, and trade investment principles.
- Proven track record in distributor and retail management.
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and sales reporting tools.
- Fluent Romanian and upper-intermediate English.
- Driving license.
- Commercial and financial acumen.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
