Your new role and environment.

As a Senior Tech Enablement Architect in the EBT Tech Enablement team, you will play a pivotal role in translating business needs into robust, scalable and secure IT solutions that drive tangible value across our regional brands in Belgium, Central and Southeastern Europe.

You'll work closely with local brand teams to design and deliver enterprise-grade technical and integration architectures that span both on-premises and cloud environments. Your work will directly support our mission to create seamless, digitally enabled experiences for millions of customers across Europe.

Key responsibilities of your role.

• Architect Scalable Solutions
• Design resilient, secure, and scalable IT architectures that align with Ahold Delhaize's strategic objectives and technical standards. Your solutions will support hybrid environments and enable cross-brand consistency.
• Translate Business Needs into Technical Designs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to capture complex business requirements and convert them into actionable technical specifications, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance frameworks.
• Lead Technical Documentation
• Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture artifacts, including infrastructure diagrams, integration flows, and system blueprints that support transparency and governance.
• Act as a Strategic Liaison
• Serve as the primary technical interface between vendors, project managers, and product owners. You'll ensure clarity, alignment, and traceability throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Communicate Across Audiences
• Present and defend architectural proposals to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, adapting your communication style to foster understanding and buy-in.
• Drive Cross-Functional Delivery
• Lead engineering teams through solution implementation, ensuring timely delivery, quality assurance, and adherence to governance and operational standards.
• Align with Strategic Tech Enablement Goals
• Collaborate with technology enablers to ensure your architectural decisions support broader platform strategies, including convergence, scalability, and innovation across EU brands.

Requirements

We think you'll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:

• Over 10 years of experience as a Technical Architect designing complex hybrid IT infrastructure solutions or 15+ years as a senior-level Infrastructure Engineer in large scale organization.
• Extensive expertise in designing on-premises and Microsoft Azure Cloud architectures, with a strong focus on compute, networking, storage, identity management, security frameworks, and governance models.
• Expert-level proficiency in enterprise networking architecture, encompassing core technologies such as WAN, LAN, VPN, and SD-WAN, with experience designing resilient, scalable, and secure network infrastructures.
• Proven ability to produce high-level and detailed architecture designs using tools like Microsoft Visio and Draw.IO.
• Solid understanding of ERP systems and data integration strategies including batch processes, real-time APIs, ETL pipelines, and EDI frameworks.
• Comprehensive expertise in IT infrastructure security and identity & access management (IAM), strong experience using enterprise-grade solutions such as SAML, ADFS, SSO, PAM, and RBAC.
• Experience working in Agile environments and proficiency with collaboration platforms like Confluence and Jira (Kanban).
• Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently while delivering results under pressure.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into business-aligned solutions.

Considered a plus:

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or AWS/GCP equivalent.
• Professional-Level Networking Certification (CCNP or CCNA) or similar.
• Experience with retail, marketing, supply chain and finance.
