Sales Team Assistant
Role Purpose
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Administrator to support our Sales and Customer Management Team and Teaching Centre. This role is key to delivering high-quality services to our customers and clients, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to strong registration and re-registration results. Your work will help the British Council meet its financial targets while upholding our global standards of customer service excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Administrative Support
- Assist the Sales team with daily administrative tasks, including payment reporting and data collection.
- Coordinate placement testing and manage online registration systems.
- Maintain waiting lists, reservations, and customer movements.
- Use CRM systems to support customer engagement and improve conversion rates.
- Communicate product features and benefits to prospective customers to drive sales.
- Record and manage customer feedback and complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
- Prepare revenue reports and maintain accurate sales statistics.
- Follow up with customers who miss placement tests.
- Support Young Learner and Adult course activities as needed.
- Use systems such as Salesforce, SMS, and online booking tools to ensure operational efficiency.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from the Customer Services and Teaching Centre management teams.
Customer Service
- Deliver professional and courteous service to all customers.
- Handle phone enquiries in line with British Council standards.
- Guide customers in selecting appropriate products or services.
- Proactively cross-sell British Council offerings.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge through training, observation, and collaboration.
- Build rapport with customers to understand their needs and objectives.
Training & Development
- Participate in personal development planning to support performance and job satisfaction.
- Agree on training plans with your Line Manager to enhance skills and knowledge.
What We're Looking For
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Experience with CRM systems and data reporting tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Commitment to safeguarding and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Previous experience of working in a sales and customer service environment
- University Degree in any subject or qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Competent IT skills
- Excellent communication and customer relation skills
- Very good problem-solving skills
Working Hours
This is a full-time role, with working hours aligned to operational needs. Flexibility may be required to support activities across weekdays and weekends.
