Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized professional to join our medical team as a Referral Specialist. The ideal candidate has experience managing patient referrals, coordinating with specialists, and following up on leads using CRM tools. This role supports clinical and administrative staff by ensuring referrals are processed efficiently and in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

By proactively managing referral workflows and maintaining accurate records, this position saves valuable time for medical staff and enhances patient care coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage patient referrals to specialists, clinics, and other healthcare providers.
  • Coordinate with specialists and internal teams to schedule appointments and ensure timely care.
  • Follow up on referral leads using CRM tools to track status and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate referral records in EHR and CRM systems.
  • Communicate with patients, specialists, and internal staff to clarify or gather information.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy regulations.
  • Support administrative staff with reporting and tracking referral metrics.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in patient referral coordination, medical administration, or related healthcare support roles.
  • Familiarity with EHR and CRM platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.
  • HIPAA certification or demonstrated HIPAA compliance training.
