Elementary Learning Support Teacher

The American International School of Bucharest seeks a passionate and experienced Learning Support Teacher to work within our MTSS Framework and support our inclusive, strengths based philosophy. This position requires both a skilled collaborator and also someone with personal initiative and drive.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSEducation & Certification
- A relevant degree in the field of education (Masters preferred)
- Teaching certification in Special Education or a related field
- A minimum of 3 years teaching experience as a Learning Support Teacher
Experience
- Previous experience working within an international school or multi-cultural setting
- Experience implementing Response to Intervention within a Multi-Tiered System of Support
- Experience writing comprehensive Individualized Learning Plans (ILP) for a variety of neurodiverse students
- Skill and experience identifying & removing barriers to learning, in-class support, co-teaching, and evidenced-based interventions
- Experience facilitating a team in strength-based, student-centered, and inclusive approaches
- Experience with the IB PYP and/or an international Elementary School environment (preferred)
- Experience with the IB or similar curricular frameworks

- Deliver differentiated instruction and implement evidence-based interventions to enhance learning outcomes.
- Monitor student learning progress using a variety of student data to inform instruction and decision-making.
- Facilitate student centered Student Support Meetings (SST) with colleagues.
- Collaboratively develop and monitor measurable Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) with students, parents and educators, and communicate progress regularly with the team.
- Facilitate the gathering of student data to implement our RTI support program.
- Work collaboratively to co-plan and co-teach lessons with teachers across a variety of content areas to promote inclusive practices and equitable access to learning.
- Participate actively in departmental and divisional meetings and initiatives.
- Assume responsibility for meaningful professional growth, including remaining current and informed regarding educational research and best practice.
- Integrate technology within lessons to enhance instructional delivery.
- Perform other duties as may be reasonably assigned by the Principal.
