The Mission

Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank's gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING's clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

Within FM, in Competitive Pricing area, we have ING Pricing Architecture (IPA) asset, which consists of multiple components that enable real-time and batch calculations of financial risk metrics and simulations (e.g. XVA,PFE, Value at Risk , Expected Shortfall , Bilateral Margining , pre-deal derivatives Pricing ) which are driven by new banking regulations as well as advanced Risk analysis on the derivative product portfolio of Financial Markets (interest rates, credits, foreign exchange). This asset is in the heart of the IT landscape for our global dealing rooms and risk managers in Asia, Europe and Americas, with aprox. 30 scrum teams spread across 4 locations (Amsterdam, Brussels, Bucharest and Singapore), cooperating to evolve it towards target ING Financial Markets IT vision.

IPA HA (HedgeAccounting) is a dedicated squad responsible for in-house implementation of the HedgeAccounting module, tailor built for Group Treasury department in ING as the main stakeholder.

As a DevOps Engineer you will work closely with a variety of stakeholders, like IT teams, Business users, Product Owners, Release Managers and Production Support teams. Our team is driven by a customer perspective and fosters a diverse and contemporary workplace.

Your day to day

Even if you'll start your day from the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office's garden, your day will be quite similar when comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:

Monitor, support and run the IPA HA application and it's underlying framework (Java based, Apache Ignite, Linux technologies, distributed systems architecture) as well as the workflow Orchestrator and the Post Processing application.

Take care of incident management, and root cause analysis in case of unavailability and data quality issues. You communicate directly with users (Traders, Credit/Market Risk Managers) on this from Amsterdam, London, Brussels, New York and Singapore.

Implement and work with the latest tooling with a strong focus on performance, stability and security

Find opportunities to automate the testing of existing features, performance, and security as well as the automation of deployments, monitoring, and more. This is a key responsibility of the Operations Engineers.

IT Risk & security controls need to be put in place and accurately documented, for this you will need to get familiar and keep up to date with the ING Information Security Management Policy.

Continuous deployment and delivery using Azure DevOps

Collaborate with the other Dev and Ops engineers to define/refine/improve the technical architecture of the application

Through Agile/Scrum, collaborate with the other Ops engineers to bring live new sprint releases every 2-4 weeks to Acceptance and Production.

What you'll bring to the team

Experience : 5+ years of software engineering / operations experience

Mandatory Tech stack/ knowledge :

Advanced knowledge on CI/CD and experience with Git, Python, Ansible, Linux (RedHat Enterprise Linux 7 or 8), Shell scripting and working experience with JVM based applications

Experience with Azure DevOps or similar tools such as Jenkins

Familiarity with Grafana and tools for alerting like Prometheus

Good understanding of the ELK Stack and how to interact with it

Experience with Oracle 12c/19c with PL/SQL

Good knowledge with Docker and orchestration for it like Kubernetes or Openshift

Familiarity with tools such as Confluence, ServiceNow, Checkmarx

Experience or affinity with IT Risk & Security concepts

IT Operations/Support experience, including Functional support to end users (such as Traders, Risk Managers, Collateral Managers but could be in another domain/field) combined with analytical skills to identify root causes in workflows incidents (data, technical, functional).

A customer focus, with the mindset to find and resolve root causes of incidents to structurally improve the customer experience.

A good team player, cross functional, enjoys interacting with people of all levels in a multicultural environment

Proactive and attentive to other's needs

Foreign languages: English (advanced)

Education : Education at Bachelor/Master level with a strong analytical background, in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering or equivalent
