Main Responsibilities

  • Process Development: Develop processes and technology, design equipment, specify technical requirements for new machines, process upgrades, and production lines' upgrades.
  • Equipment Troubleshooting: Identify and correct electrical failures or automation equipment programs.
  • Training and Coaching: Train plant technicians and operators in using the equipment and systems.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend changes to improve production processes and participate in new projects.
  • Daily Operations: Be in charge of daily troubleshooting operations for production equipment.
  • Control Systems: Conversion and programming control equipment (Allen Bradley, Rockwell, Siemens PLC) of production systems.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Install and commission new instrumentation, process automation, and controls equipment.
  • Technology Upgrade Projects: Participate in technology upgrade projects and installation of new production systems.
  • ICS Programming: Own the programming definition, testing, and execution for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) such as Programmable Logic Controller (PLCs) and Human-to-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) including robots, vision/detection systems, and other industrial automation.
  • Vendor Management: Provide technical direction to vendors and engineering firms throughout all phases of the project.
  • Project Scope, Cost, Schedule, and Resourcing: Input to project scope, cost, schedule, and resourcing plus the ability to quickly adapt to change.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with site/global engineering, technical vendors, equipment suppliers, and production site personnel.
