Job Title

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data processing systems on the AWS platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain medium to complex data transformations with Python on the AWS platform.
  • Design and implement SQL-based data transformations in Snowflake.
  • Collaborate with the team to evaluate and implement cloud-based data architecture solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of data quality monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
  • Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Provide technical documentation and support for business stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional work experience.
  • Degree in business informatics, information systems, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in data integration, data analysis, or a similar technical role.
  • Knowledge of Python programming skills focused on data transformation (Pandas) and/or distributed data processing (PySpark).
  • Knowledge and practical experience on Amazon Data Engineering stack (EC2, Lambda, S3, Elastic Container Registry, Step Functions, AWS Glue).
  • Experience with APIs, focusing on the ability to design, build, and scale RESTful and/or Graph QL APIs for high performance and availability.
  • Experience of working with databases like PostgreSQL and NoSQL (DynamoDB).
  • Enforce engineering best practices within the team, promoting code quality, testing, and efficient development workflows, CI/CD improvements on AWS cloud.
  • Basic/medium knowledge on containerization with Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Basic knowledge of reporting tools like Amazon QuickSight.
  • Experience as part of an international agile organization with a strong understanding of agile development (work in Jira/Confluence).
  • Data modeling and profiling (knowledge about relational and dimensional data models).
  • Nice-to-have skills: Angular (or understanding the basics of web development), Amazon infrastructure capabilities.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of German is an advantage.
  • Team player, target-oriented, and able to work independently with little instruction.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new tools, technologies, and evolving business requirements.
