Job Title: Cloud Data Architect

We are seeking a proactive data engineer to join our technology team focused on cloud transformation.

About the Role
  • This is a full-time freelance contract with an ASAP start date.

You will be responsible for maintaining legacy data systems and developing roadmaps for migrating them to the cloud.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Work with business stakeholders to understand high-value problems that can be addressed with data processing and analytics.
  2. Design, build, and support a new cloud-based analytics platform.
  3. Serve as a core member of the Data Engineering Team, collaborating with data architects and data scientists.
  4. Support other teams, including data science and data operations.
  5. Translate business requirements into development tasks and estimate their complexity.
  6. Rapidly adopt and apply core data engineering languages, especially Python and/or SQL.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. A robust understanding of core data engineering concepts (ETL vs. ELT, structured/unstructured data, data quality, data governance).
  2. Strong data modeling experience and ability to design optimized database structures.
  3. Experience with both traditional and modern data warehousing techniques.
  4. Ability to create data models, diagrams, and documentation to ensure consistency and clarity.
  5. Experience contributing to all aspects of a solution: design, infrastructure, development, testing, and maintenance.
  6. Effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders through agile ceremonies.
  7. Understanding of cloud technologies and cloud-native solution design.
  8. Proven track record of taking initiative and delivering projects end-to-end.
  9. High energy, curiosity, and motivation to make a difference.
