SS&C is the largest global investor service provider, servicing more than 55 million investors. Continually investing in global technology and services across the spectrum of distribution channels including: Asset Managers, Financial Advisors, Wealth Managers and large financial institutions such as Banks and Insurers.

Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) is the business unit offering this role. GIDS delivers global omni-channel investor servicing, including contact centre, using digital services.

About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned
Senior .NET Developer
with extensive experience in designing and building robust APIs to join our dynamic development team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in developing scalable, high-performance applications across various layers of N-tier architectures and demonstrate hands-on experience with multiple ORMs and relational databases

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable APIs and backend services using the latest .NET frameworks (.NET 3.1 to 8+).
• Architect, implement, and optimize N-tier applications in a highly distributed environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define solutions, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Develop and maintain efficient data access layers using Entity Framework, Dapper, and other ORMs.
• Work with relational databases such as MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, optimizing database performance and ensuring data integrity.
• Write and execute comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Contribute to code reviews, design discussions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Experience:

• 5+ years of professional experience in .NET development.
• Proficiency in building APIs and backend services using C# and frameworks from .NET 3.1 to .NET 8+.
• Strong understanding of N-tier architectures and design patterns.
• Hands-on experience with ORM tools like Entity Framework, Dapper, and familiarity with other ORM solutions.
• Extensive experience with relational databases (MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL), including database schema design and performance optimisation.
• Expertise in writing unit and integration tests with tools such as xUnit, NUnit, or similar.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex performance and scalability issues.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to event-driven architectures and experience with Kafka.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with job scheduling tools such as Quartz.NET, Hangfire, or similar solutions.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployment platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems architecture.
