ROLE PROFILE:

Data Platforms is an exciting collective of teams spanning product and engineering teams. LSEG Data Platforms provides a range of tools and solutions for handling, accessing, and distributing financial data. They offer various platforms, including the LSEG Data Platform, LSEG DataScope Select, and LSEG DataScope Warehouse. These platforms enable users to access both LSEGand#39;s own data and third-party data, with options for real-time, delayed, and historical data delivery.

Role Profile

The DataScope suite of applications is part of our Pricing and Reference Service business. It is a respected application used in the wider finance industry where clients can download both market data in bulk form or in customized reports. The application has 4kand#43; external clients who consume financial data to analyse funds and the market position of global industry players.

ROLE SUMMARY:

In this role, youand#39;ll be joining our Enterprise Data Solutions as a Lead Front End Developer (.NET): serving the entire spectrum of data needs across asset classes, latency and delivery mechanisms including real-time data and news, reference and legal entity data.

We know balance is the key, therefore we propose hybrid way of working. You are welcome to work from our brand-new office every day, but you have still an opportunity to stay at home if needed. In this position you can work 4 days a week from home.

WHAT YOUand#39;LL BE DOING:

o Implements features, adjusts and supports solutions according to business requirements from product managers.

o Improves technical solutions to make them more stable and maintainable.

o Provides assistance to 2nd and 3rd line support teams to analyze and resolve data and behavioral issues from clients.

o Collaborates with the software development team on application design and development.

o Develops knowledge and understanding of technologies in LSEG and utilises these in their own scope of work, to create a network within the company.

o Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solution and provides strong knowledge on coding.

o Optimizes software by performing maintenance, updates, and upgrades.

o Documents processes and maintaining software development records.

o Keeps up to date with .NET development standards and advancements in application development.

o Build and develops trusting relationships with people at all levels, represents LSEG appropriately. Promotes collaboration between and within teams and communicates complex information clearly to all audiences.

WHAT YOUand#39;LL BRING:

Minimum of 4 yearsand#39; experience as a .NET/C#; Microsoft .NET certification preferred.

o Enterprise-scale application development experience using Microsoft .NET.

o Practical Experience with all of the following:

• Customer-facing web development
• SOAP/REST API Services
• JSON and XML
• SQL
• Version Control Systems such as Mercurial or Git

o .NET Framework 4.5/4.8 and C#

o ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC

o Javascript and js-frameworks:

o jQuery

o jQuery UI

o Bootstrap

o KnockoutJs

o d3js

o REST and SOAP API

o Sybase or Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, ANSI-SQL)

o Web development: HTTP/HTTPS, AJAX, XML, JSON

o Automated unit testing with nUnit

o Experience with financial market data and/or financial market products.Analysis of business requirements to identify flexible and pragmatic design changes to development and production architecture.

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

o Excellent people skills and emotional intelligence.

Nice to Have skills:

o Experience in ElasticSearch and NEST

o Modern development practices - scrum, CI/CD, BDD, automation, Infrastructure as Code.

o ELK (Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana)

o Financial Market data experience

o Cloud development experience

We are looking for someone who:

Works with colleagues and customers to develop new software applications and update and modify existing applications. The application developer processes usersand#39; needs to customize the software for computer programs, designs prototype applications, implements, and tests source code and fix software applications.

Your duties will primarily revolve around building software by writing code, as well as modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces. You will also be involved in system testing and validation procedures, and also working with customers or departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.

To be successful in this role, you will need extensive knowledge of programming languages and the software development life-cycle.
