Bucharest, Bucureşti, Romania Innio Full time

Description

If you've spent years with your hands on engines — diagnosing, repairing, commissioning, and keeping them running — this role could be your next step.
At INNIO, we're looking for an experienced engine professional to join our Technical Support team. Engine Technical Support Engineer,  You'll use your deep mechanical and troubleshooting knowledge to help field technicians and customers solve problems — sometimes remotely, sometimes right on-site.   At INNIO we offer you:

  • Innovative, international work environment
  • Permanent contract (subject to probation period)
  • Technology and tools to enhance role effectiveness
  Attractive employee benefits:
  • Holiday allowance,
  • Christmas bonus,
  • Private Medical Healthcare,
  • Multi-sport card with employer contribution
  • Supported learning and practical training sessions
  • Overtime paid as per regulations
Your responsibilities are:
  • Be the go-to expert when engines need attention — from quick phone guidance to full on-site troubleshooting.
  • Diagnose and solve complex engine and control system issues using remote monitoring tools (like MyPlant) and your own mechanical intuition.
  • Support field technicians and customers through phone, data, and hands-on assistance — ensuring clear communication and fast solutions.
  • Plan and coordinate service actions, especially when urgent intervention is needed.
  • Work closely with service centers, project teams, and application engineers to ensure lessons learned from the field make our products and services better.
  • Investigate recurring issues, analyze control software errors, and help implement fixes.
  • Spend time in the field several times a year to stay connected to the real-world challenges technicians face.
  • Participate in shift and on-call rotation, ensuring customers can count on us around the clock.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and compliance procedures — the same way you always have on-site

Requirements:

  • Several years of experience working on large combustion engines, turbines, or marine engines — ideally including commissioning, troubleshooting, or control systems.
  • Hands-on technical background (mechanical or electrical apprenticeship, HTL, or similar).
  • Experience with Jenbacher gas engines or similar power generation equipment is a strong plus.
  • Analytical and practical mindset — you can read the data, but you also know what it feels like when something's off.
  • Clear communicator who can explain technical issues to both engineers and customers.
  • Team player who enjoys collaborating across departments.
  • Fluent in Polish and German or English.
  • Comfortable with IT tools (ERP systems, databases, MS Office).
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% within your region.
  • Flexible and calm under pressure — especially when engines aren't.
