Senior Accountant

Mercedes-Benz Romania is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Bucharest
Mercedes-Benz Romania is part of the Mercedes-Benz Group and is Mercedes-Benz's national sales organization for the divisions Passenger Cars and Vans.

Job mission:

Perform a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organization's financial resources and ensure that it complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements. Reconcile accounts, post journal entries, and maintain a complete and accurate general ledger in accordance with accounting principles and reporting schedules so that the organization has a full and accurate statement of its financial position. Collect, compile, verify, and analyse financial information and prepare financial reports and accounting statements so that senior management has accurate and timely information for making financial decisions. These reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets, depreciation statements, cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repayment schedules, regulatory reports and filings.

We will count on you to:

• Ensure Financial Statements preparation of the entity in accordance with legal provisions and Mercedes-Benz standards.
• Ensure compliance with all current legal and tax regulations.
• Execute, monthly, the necessary operations for month-end closing, ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare/review monthly tax declarations and annual financial statements in accordance with the law.
• Coordinate work between accounting team members and auditors; send the required information and give explanations about the accounting records; prepare the centralizes situations required by auditors during the audit period.
• Responsible for providing the auditors with the necessary information to prepare the Transfer Price file.
• Actively participate in establishing and reviewing internal policies that directly impact the accounting department.
• Accounting Manual, with IFRS and also with the statutory requirements.
• Prepare requests for ad hoc analysis of various types of financial information, utilizing operational and financial analytics as appropriate for the situation.
• Maintain the chart of accounts in CoFiCo system (SAP) and ensure updating it according to the legal or corporate requirements.
• Assist with the monthly analysis of P&L and Balance Sheet deviations.
• Prepare/review monthly balance sheet reconciliations within the team's scope and assist with expectation reporting and quality checks.
• Support definition of and contributes to initiatives for improving department processes and systems developments.

What your profile should cover:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• At least 5 years of experience on independent position in a Finance/Accounting department
• Detail orientation with strong technical and analytical skills, excellent knowledge of MS office
• SAP experience is a strong advantage
• Good communication skills in Romanian and English
