At VARTA Microbattery, we are looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team in Brașov. This role is focused on maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of our automation systems in production. If you enjoy working hands-on with equipment, solving problems and making processes more reliable, this position is for you.︍︅︁︀︂︆︈︅​︂︆︄︅​︁︁︌​︈︂︇︍​︈︆︅︊︄︈︌︊︂

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs (Step7, TIA Portal), Beckhoff, WinCC/PCS7, AllenBradley and Keyence.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, troubleshooting and process optimization in an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and integration of sensors/cameras.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • English knowledge (German is an advantage).

Main responsibilities

  • Ensure the proper functioning of automation systems in production.
  • Troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA and industrial equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Implement improvements and optimizations on existing automation systems and processes.
  • Support integration of new devices (sensors, cameras, testing equipment) into production lines.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance and quality teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Keep technical documentation updated and support knowledge transfer within the team.
  • Follow safety standards, company procedures and industry best practices.
