POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a qualified and results-driven Feed Grain Trader to manage and expand our trading book in Romania/Black Sea. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong origination understanding, commercial skills, and the ability to manage risk while driving profitability. This role is based in our Lausanne office.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Trading & Origination
- Manage and trade a book with origination power of 1.5–2 million MT in Romania.
- Maximize the port asset in Constanta to support trading activities.
- Execute trading strategies with a focus on corn and barley, managing exposure through VaR.
- Take strong ownership of P&L and deliver consistent results.
2. Market Analysis & Strategy
- Identify and capture arbitrage opportunities across different origins to optimize margins.
- Conduct deep market analysis, including scenario-building on grain balance sheets, to support decision-making.
- Apply expertise in calendar spreads to hedge and enhance trading positions; understanding of options trading is a plus.
3. Deal Execution & Compliance
- Negotiate, structure, and execute trades with a strong understanding of GAFTA rules.
- Ensure all trades comply with internal policies and international trading standards.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with logistics, risk, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution of trades.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
+ CANDIDATE PROFILE
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agribusiness, Economics, International Trade, or a related field is preferred.
- 5 – 7 years' experience in feed grain trading.
- Proven track record of trading and originating volumes at scale (2 mio MT+).
- Strong knowledge of grain markets, price modelling, and balance sheet analysis.
- Excellent understanding of risk management tools, VaR, spreads, and options strategies.
- Deep understanding of contract structures and international trading practices.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; advanced proficiency with Excel/quantitative tools.
- Self-starter with strong ownership mentality and ability to deliver results under pressure.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills in an international trading environment.
