We're looking for a
Senior Data Engineer
to design, build and optimize data pipelines and integrations as we transition from fragmented legacy reporting to a
scalable, cloud-based data platform
.

As a senior member of the BI team, this role will
collaborate closely with the Head of BI
on data architecture and strategy, ensuring that technical solutions align with business goals. The Senior Data Engineer will also set best practices and enable the creation of
trusted, reusable datasets
for analytics.

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Bucharest.

Key Responsibilities:

• Platform & Architecture
• Collaborate with the Head of BI to
  define and implement data platform architecture
  (Microsoft Fabric / Azure), integrating ERP (SAP), MES and other systems.

• Contribute to establishing
  data architecture standards
  covering ingestion, storage, modeling and security.

• Data Engineering

• Develop and optimize
  scalable pipelines
  for structured and unstructured data.
• Use
  SQL and Python (pandas, PySpark, APIs)
  for data cleansing, transformation and integration.

• Implement
  CI/CD and automation
  for reliable data operations (DataOps).

• Data Governance & Quality

• Establish monitoring frameworks for
  data reliability, lineage and freshness
  .

• Collaboration

• Partner with BI Developers to deliver
  reusable semantic models and datasets
  for Power BI.

• Engage with business teams to ensure pipelines and models reflect
  real business needs
  .

• Strategic Enablement

• Support the
  migration from SSRS to Power BI
  by enabling standardized, governed datasets.
• Provide input into the
  BI roadmap
  to ensure platform scalability and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to streamline integrations and reduce technical debt.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Strong expertise in
  SQL
  and
  Python
  for large-scale data processing.
• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.
• Proven experience with
  cloud data platforms
  (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP acceptable).
• Solid understanding of
  data modeling
  (star schemas, semantic layers).
• Experience with
  ETL/ELT tools
  (Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Pipelines, Synapse, or Databricks).
• Knowledge of
  data governance, data quality and master data principles
  .
• Experience with
  Git and CI/CD practices
  for data pipelines.
• Strong communication skills, able to work with both technical and business leaders.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with
  Power BI datasets and semantic models
  .
• Exposure to large-scale
  cloud migration projects
  .
• Familiarity with
  ERP integration.
