Who we are

• We're an early-stage VC-backed start-up that has raised $9M to date from VC funds and private investors. Founded in 2019 by Florin Tufan, Mihai Vinaga and Sorina Vlasceanu, we're currently a team of 50+ driven individuals, mostly engineers and technical people, investing our time to solve problems that haven't been solved before anywhere in the world.

What we do

• We're building the single source of truth for company data across all industries. We process billions of webpages and petabytes of data every week, then apply several AI models to break them down into usable business data, developing a deep understanding of the elements that define a business.
• This results in tens of data points associated with each company, everything from company description, alternative names, tags, business category & industry, office and retail locations, risks, size, classifications, products, certifications, and beyond.

What you'll do

• You will help us bring our firmographic data to life in client-facing prototypes. In this role, you'll dig into data quality, shape datasets to fit real business needs, and collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver high-impact POCs. It's a hands-on, problem-solving role that blends technical skills with a strong understanding of context and use cases.
• You will work closely with Alexandra (Head of PreSales), Adelina, Cristina & Denis, who have rapidly become the pillars of our Data Analysis team.

Your responsibilities

• Analyze data quality using tools like Excel, SQL, and Spark to identify outliers and define KPIs
• Work with the wider data team to investigate issues and drive improvements
• Customize, shape and fine tune data assets to match unique client needs during the POC phase
• Understand the business context behind each use case and adjust data accordingly
• Research and validate data from web sources to enrich our datasets
• Prepare and review data samples to be shared with clients, working closely with Sales
• Support the AI and Data Science teams by curating and testing training datasets
• Quickly prototype solutions to tricky or unique specific business-related use cases
• Spot areas where we can do things better and suggest improvements

Our Qualifications

• Before building Veridion, our 3 co-founders (Sorina, Florin and Mihai) worked at companies that impacted billions of users, having been exposed to diverse areas of technology that span from full stack web development to Big Data and robust Cloud infrastructure, as well as their product and business development proficiency.
• This broad mix, critical to a true data-driven mindset, has been imprinted in our company's culture since day one. And it massively steps up our game as engineers.

Your Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Data Analyst role
• Strong Excel skills and good SQL knowledge are a must
• Experience with Apache Spark is nice to have; Scala or Python is a bonus
• A curious mindset is a must – you enjoy asking questions and exploring the "why" behind the data
• Proneness for the technical side of things and interest in how data pipelines work
• Comfortable working with large datasets and fine details
• Ability to connect data to real business needs and think critically about how it's used
• Good communication skills, ready to coordinate internally and engage with clients when needed
• Familiarity with firmographic or B2B data is helpful, but not mandatory
