This position is fully remote or Barcelona-based.
TeamOur Gaming team is made up of hybrid-casual, casual, and mid-core experts. Our 'Core' games team supports internal and external studios worldwide in creating, developing, and launching new hit games, whilst our 'Live' games team focuses on delivering higher engagement on our existing and successful games.
Joining our Live games team means collaborating with gaming industry experts on globally renowned, enduring games while embracing exciting new entrepreneurial ventures. You will be joining one of our Live Studios, working on
RoleWe are looking for a Technical Artist to join our internal game studio at Voodoo, working on As part of a small, agile team, you will bridge the gap between art and engineering, helping to optimize workflows, enhance visual quality, and ensure smooth performance across mobile platforms. Your work will directly impact the player experience in our high-performing genre-defining casual game.
Optimize game assets, shaders, and rendering pipelines for smooth performance on mobile devices.
Develop tools and scripts in Unity to streamline the workflow for artists and developers.
Work closely with game designers, artists, and developers to bring creative visions to life while maintaining technical efficiency.
Implement VFX, shaders, and lighting techniques to enhance the game's visual appeal.
Ensure asset optimization (compression, polygon count, texture sizes) & optimal import into Unity without sacrificing quality.
Debug and troubleshoot graphical and performance issues on different mobile devices.
Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in mobile game art and Unity development.
Experience: 5+ years as a Technical Artist in the mobile gaming industry
Strong Unity expertise, including shader development (Shader Graph/HLSL), particle systems, and rendering optimization
Proficiency in C# scripting for automating processes and enhancing tools
Understanding of mobile game constraints (performance, memory, draw calls, batching)
Experience with lighting, VFX, post-processing, and GPU profiling
Knowledge of 3D modeling and texturing workflows (Blender, Maya, Photoshop, Substance)
Ability to debug and optimize art assets and rendering issues.
