Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the design, development, and delivery of high-quality watch faces and applications for the Pixel Watch. You will work on challenging problems, collaborate with a group of Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers, and have a significant impact on the future of the Pixel Watch experience. You will have opportunities to lead projects, mentor and technically lead junior engineers, and shape the technical direction of our team.
The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google's artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Responsibilities- Help grow and technically lead a high-performing team of Software Engineers. Design, develop, and test performant code for watch faces and applications, using Kotlin/Java and other relevant technologies.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate product requirements into technical designs and implementations.
- Contribute to and review technical design documents, ensuring code quality, testability, and adherence to best practices. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other engineers.
- Explore and prototype new features and technologies. Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in wearable development. Contribute to the definition of the long-term technical strategy for the team.
