Summary

This role focuses on the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of hardware engineering applications—such as PTC, Cadence, and Sigasi—within both Windows and Linux environments. Operating as part of a Platform Engineering team, the administrator ensures that the underlying infrastructure supports the seamless operation of these tools, leveraging AWS cloud services to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Deployment & Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain

hardware engineering applications on Windows and Linux systems, ensuring

optimal performance and availability.

• System Administration: Manage and monitor Windows Server and Linux (e.g.,

RHEL, Ubuntu) environments, including user management, security

configurations, and system updates.

• AWS Infrastructure Management: Utilize AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS) to

provision and manage cloud-based resources supporting engineering

applications.

• Database Administration: Administer SQL databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL,

PostgreSQL) used by engineering tools, including backup, recovery, and

performance tuning.

• File System Management: Oversee file systems and storage solutions,

ensuring data integrity and efficient access for large engineering datasets.

• Automation & Scripting: Develop scripts (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Ansible) to

automate routine tasks, deployments, and system monitoring.

• Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices, manage access

controls, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry

standards.

• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, IT, and security teams to align

infrastructure solutions with application requirements and business objectives.

• Data Continuity Framework: Support the implementation of the data continuity

framework across different applications, ensuring consistency both from a

technical perspective (infrastructure networking, tools integrations , data

access) and a data model perspective (data integrity, lifecycle management,

data alignment).

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Windows and Linux system administration.
• Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management.
• Knowledge of SQL database systems and administration.
• Familiarity with file system structures and storage management.
• Scripting skills for automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell).
• Understanding of networking concepts and security practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex system and application issues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying and maintaining hardware engineering tools like PTC,

Cadence, or Sigasi.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Knowledge of PTC PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) solutions is a strong

advantage.
