Utility Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and coordinate temporary and permanent diversions of existing utility networks (water, sewage, gas, electricity, telecom, district heating, etc.)
  • Prepare technical drawings, design reports, and calculation notes for utility works
  • Liaise with utility providers, local authorities, and subcontractors to obtain necessary approvals and permits
  • Identify clashes between proposed structures and existing utilities and propose technical solutions
  • Ensure all utility designs are compliant with Romanian regulations, utility company standards, and project specifications
  • Provide support during construction, including site visits, inspections, and resolving technical issues related to utilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Installations, or a related field
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in utility design
  • Knowledge of Romanian standards and permitting procedures for utility works
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Civil 3D or other utility design software is a plus
  • Strong communication and coordination skills; experience working with utility companies is an advantage
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Romanian is a plus
