Who we are

By joining our project, you will be working on an initiative of the European Commission focused on creating a more efficient, modern and secure customs environment within the European Union. Being part of this initiative set on a 5 years' timeline, you will have the opportunity to work on topics such as digitalization of customs processes, streamlining customs procedures to facilitate trade and reduce costs, harmonization of customs rules across all EU member states and combating fraud.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure network infrastructures across enterprise environments.
  • Leading the architectural planning and evolution of network systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and emerging technologies.
  • Designing high-performance network architectures using Juniper and Cisco technologies.
  • Leading the integration of network appliances such as Juniper SRX, Cisco ASA, and F5 BIG IP into enterprise environments.
  • Developing and maintaining network segmentation strategies including vMotion LVLAN and Management VLAN configurations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless deployment and operation of network services.
  • Creating and maintaining detailed network documentation, diagrams, and standards.
  • Evaluating and recommending new networking technologies and solutions.
  • Ensuring network security, availability, and performance through proactive monitoring and optimization.
  • Supporting disaster recovery and business continuity planning from a network perspective.

What you'll bring along

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Network Architect or Senior Network Engineer in complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep expertise in Juniper and Cisco technologies, including NSM, Junos Space, SRX, ASA, Nexus, and ISR platforms.
  • Strong understanding of network virtualization, VLANs, and traffic segmentation (e.g., vMotion LVLAN, Management VLAN).
  • Hands-on experience with F5 BIG IP for load balancing and application delivery.
  • Solid knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices.
  • Familiarity with network automation and monitoring tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., JNCIE, CCIE, F5-CTS) are a strong plus.
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English (any other European language would be a plus).
