As
Head of Lending Experts
in
Business Banking
(BB), you will set strategic goals, lead a team of specialists and manage complex lending transactions. This role combines strategic, tactical, and operational responsibilities, working closely with BB Sales, BB Commercial Office, BB Lending Tribe, Wholesale Banking Lending and Risk Departments.

Your day yo day

• Lead and coordinate the BB Lending Experts team, managing complex lending transactions for Business Banking clients;
• Align team activities with Business Banking's commercial ambitions and strategic priorities;
• Act as people manager for 6 lending experts: attract, develop, and engage talent while ensuring a healthy balance between performance and wellbeing;
• Monitor market trends and client segments to optimize portfolio quality and identify new opportunities;
• Manage your own portfolio of lending transactions, including origination, structuring, approval, and implementation;
• Foster synergies between BB and Wholesale Banking (WB) lending activities, ensuring consistency in credit applications and shared sector knowledge;
• Drive strategic initiatives by staying connected to BB Sales, WB Lending/ WB Real Estate and ensuring local implementation;
• Provide senior representation and thought leadership in internal/ external meetings;
• Enhance strategic dialogue and engagement with clients at senior executive levels;
• Maintain a strong risk culture, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, internal procedures, and business standards;
• Be a role model, supporting and fostering a culture of good cooperation amongst various stakeholders;
• Actively promote sustainability initiatives and continuous improvement with respect to The Orange Code behaviours.

What you bring to the team

• Experience: 7+ years in banking or financial services, with a strong track record in originating, structuring, and executing lending transactions;
• Education: master's degree in economics, finance, accounting or equivalent academics (CFA/ ACCA, etc);
• A seasoned professional who has sound knowledge of lending products and proven experience in syndicated transactions, project financing, real estate financing;
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, a structured way of working, and ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
• A colleague who is naturally collaborative and invests in others to achieve common goals;
• Strong leader, eager to learn and share knowledge with colleagues, ready to grow junior staff; Highly experienced in complex stakeholder management, even under pressure;
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, commercial drive and a proactive mindset;
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
