Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Clinical Specialist Aortic based in Bucharest. The Clinical Specialist will provide expert support to healthcare teams regarding the use and application of medical devices for aortic treatments. The role includes offering clinical training, assisting with case planning, case support and ensuring the proper implementation and integration of devices in clinical environments. The position involves collaboration with healthcare professionals to enhance outcomes and patient care. The job is at a national level, giving support to company's sales and marketing departments.

What You Will Do

  • Assist physicians with case planning to determine acceptable patient selection, device selection, and clinical support including diagnostic imaging analysis and pre-implant strategy of Aortic cases
  • Interface/correspond with physicians/clinicians and Terumo Aortic associates to address specific issues relating to stent-graft design specifications
  • Monitor/expedite turnaround time for patient specific stent-graft systems
  • Ensure quality system compliance for all departmental responsibilities
  • Extensive travel domestically and occasional travel internationally
  • Train customers on the safe and efficacious use of the Company's products
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to develop new business
  • Provide technical explanation and demonstration of products to customers
  • Consult with physicians and laboratory staff during implants
  • Represent company during surgeries and implants of products to provide troubleshooting and other technical assistance
  • May deliver on site training programs for customers or institutions
  • May assist in developing training materials
  • Manages the stock level of all products in portfolio in order to assure that all customer needs are being met in due time

Qualifications

  • Strong technical and clinical knowledge in human anatomy and physiology and medical procedural techniques (preferably endovascular or cardiac)
  • Ability to quickly gain a thorough knowledge of company products and their recommended use
  • Requires the ability to handle customer/client inquiries and to respond with company information, selected reference material and analyze product applications and misapplications to diagnose product issues relating to usage, manufacture and/or failure
  • Requires strong interpersonal and analytical skills, training and the ability to stay abreast of the current technology, company products and generally accepted medical practices related to products and procedural area.
  • Must be able to handle several time constrained projects simultaneously, while educating and satisfying both internal and external customers
  • Ability to present and effectively communicate complex clinical and technical data to others of a non-scientific orientation and with varying backgrounds and knowledge levels
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting CT, MRI, and Angiography images
  • Understanding on bringing new products through the supply chain of a hospital
  • Working knowledge of maintaining inventory control and coordination with Company's customer service department
  • Must be willing to continually learn about the Company's products and related processes. Maintain current on industry related journals, articles, and periodicals. Oral and written exams are to be expected periodically to test current knowledge
  • Must be able to wear approximately 4-5kg. of lead coat while assisting with implants in operating room

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • B.S. in Health Sciences, Medicine or Biomedical Engineering
  • Minimum three (3) years experience in clinical support and/or sales of medical device calling on Aortic specialties such as structural heart, interventional radiology, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology
  • Experience in clinically supporting cases in an interventional lab and/or operating room setting
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting CT, MRI, and Angiography images
  • Extensive knowledge of interventional procedures, endovascular procedures
  • Has demonstrated experience and a track record of success doing case support
  • Experience in preparing and giving technical presentations
  • Language fluency: fluent in English is mandatory
