Objective of the role
As part of the Finance Department, the
ESG Leader
will oversee the development, management, and reporting of non-financial data in alignment with key regulatory frameworks and the Ayvens environmental strategy. This role ensures that ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) data is captured, analyzed, and reported accurately and effectively across the group.
The ESG Team Leader will lead and develop a team of ESG analysts, collaborating with cross-functional departments. (Finance, Corporate Affairs, IT/Digital, Risk, Treasury, local entities), and act as a key point of contact for external auditors and ESG consultants. The role blends operational execution with strategic oversight and people leadership.
Areas of responsibilities
ESG Strategy & Reporting
- Lead the preparation and delivery of ESG and non-financial reporting aligned with the EU Taxonomy, ESG Pillar 3, CSRD, Science-Based Targets, EV100 and other applicable frameworks;
- Ensure continuous compliance with evolving ESG regulations and internal policy standards ;
- Act as primary liaison with external auditors for the year-end assurance of Sustainability KPIs ;
- Maintain a strong and collaborative relationship with the Chief Sustainability Officer of the Group to ensure strategic alignment and consistency across initiatives.
ESG Data Management
- Oversee the collection, cleaning, validation, and maintenance of ESG-related data from internal and external sources ;
- Drive continuous improvement and automation of ESG data collection and reporting processes ;
- Monitor data quality and ensure completeness and consistency across all platforms ;
- Team Leadership ; Conduct regular 1:1s, performance evaluations, and career development conversations ;
- Lead, coach, and develop the team of ESG analysts ; Provide direction and support to team members in prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and enhancing performance ;
- Foster a collaborative, purpose-driven team culture focused on driving ESG impact and operational excellence.
Analysis & Insights
- Translate ESG data into actionable business insights through reporting, dashboards (Power BI), and ad hoc analysis;
- Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders to inform decision-making and contribute to Ayvens' sustainability strategy.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with key stakeholders including Finance, Corporate Affairs, IT/Digital, Risk, Treasury, and Strategic Finance ;
- Engage with local country finance teams and controllers to align on ESG data collection and reporting ;
- Represent the ESG function in internal steering committees and external workshops or conferences .
Project Management
- Plan, coordinate and deliver ESG -related initiatives and priorities within agreed timeliness, scope, ensuring cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment ;
- Track initiatives and projects, manage risks and report on milestones to relevant governance bodies.
Job Requirements
- Organisationally as well as socially sensitive to effectively maintain a constructive working relationship with all central, local operational teams as well as different country contacts ;
- Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field;
- Leadership skills, ability to work on own initiative. Ability to work collaboratively with different teams internationally;
- Managing conflicting priorities between different stakeholders;
- Good communication skills both written and orally, in English;
- Proven ability to manage large datasets, extract insights, and deliver clear, impactful reporting;
- Project management skills, including planning, execution, monitoring and reporting on cross-functional initiatives ;
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience and leading role within an international financial services company;
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel ;
- People management experience and ability to lead a team with empathy and accountability ;
- ESG reporting and sustainability frameworks (Eu Taxonomy, CSRD, ESG Pillar 3, etc) ;
- Proven experience with implementation of new business processes and change management in large, matrix organizations ;
- Agile methodology experience is considered a strong plus ;
- Rigorous and excellent attention to detail and accuracy .
