Job Summary:

As a
Senior Technical Operations Engineer
, you will play a hands-on technical role supporting deployment, integration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in advanced telecom environments. You will work with EPC/5GC/NFV/Kubernetes technologies, collaborate closely with R&D and customer technical teams, and ensure quality delivery across complex projects. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to continuous product improvement and knowledge sharing within a leading technical operations function.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:

• Establish strong R&D relationships and act as the primary interface between projects and R&D.
• Work with customer technical staff to
  deploy, integrate, and support systems
  within the customer network.
• Run acceptance testing with customers to verify product functionality.
• Demonstrate a full understanding of
  containerized deployments
  .
• Automate operational procedures using
  Python, Ansible, or Shell scripting
  (automation experience is a plus).
• Investigate issues thoroughly prior to escalation, continuously improving coding knowledge.
• Participate in lessons learnt activities and drive continuous process improvement.
• Use provided test tools to
  capture and analyze logs
  required by R&D.
• Communicate with customers to establish problem details and requirements.
• Remain focused on project timelines to ensure key milestones are met.
• Prepare project documentation such as
  Methods of Procedures (MOP)
  and participate in MOP reviews.
• Collaborate with R&D Release Management and Engineering to resolve customer queries promptly.
• Escalate critical blocking items to the Technical Operations Lead as needed.
• Assist support teams with system upgrades when required.
• Maintain accurate entries in bug tracking systems to support R&D.
• Participate in product debug work streams and share findings with the wider team by updating the knowledge base.
• Provide technical support and coaching to EMEA Support Teams.
• Offer Tier 3 level support during outages for projects you have been involved with.
• Successfully close out projects by completing go-live checklists.

Quality:

• Review and update technical quality system aspects to ensure accuracy and currency.
• Adhere to internal checklist delivery milestones, rejecting non-compliant deliveries.
• Participate in Ops to Support handover milestones.
• Provide regular feedback on existing processes to drive continuous improvement.

Skills, Experience, and Abilities Required:

Essential:

• Strong experience with
  UNIX (Solaris or Red Hat Linux)
  and proven UNIX system administration skills.
• Good coding experience.
• Experience installing, upgrading, and configuring computer hardware and software.
• Knowledge of
  mobile networks
  and software engineering principles.
• Experience working with
  5GC SA/NSA protocols and architecture
  .
• Experience with
  4G EPC (PGW/SGW/MME/PCRF) products and architecture
  .
• Full understanding of
  NFV
  (RedHat, VMWare, or Wind River).
• Ability to troubleshoot issues across these environments.

Desirable:

• Experience with
  HP and Dell platforms
  .
• Experience with
  VMWare or KVM-based virtualization
  .
• Experience with
  IP networks
  .
• In-depth understanding of telecom protocols (HTTP2, NGAP, DIAMETER, GTP, S1AP).
• Customer-facing and team collaboration skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with peers, other teams, and customer staff.
