As a
VMware Technical Support Engineer
, you will work within our Private Cloud Support team to provide top-tier support to our customers. This role requires specialized skills in VMware, cloud incident response, and Citrix.

Objectives

You will be responsible for responding to support tickets, engaging with Broadcom for advanced troubleshooting, and liaising with Node4 Service Desk and Service Management teams to ensure customer satisfaction.

What you would do & responsibilities

  • Working within our Private Cloud Support team you will respond to VMware customer support tickets based on agreed priority/severity levels.
  • Engage with Broadcom (VMware) for advanced troubleshooting when required.
  • Engage with the Node4 Service Desk and Service Management teams.
  • Update and create Knowledge Base documentation.
  • Support customer and partner onboarding; understanding SLA's, product sets and license entitlement.
  • Escalate support issues when required. The Private Cloud Support team own any incidents through to resolution and provide root cause analysis.
  • Liaise with customers, act as lead point of contact when delivering technical support and ensuring continuity of services and customer satisfaction.
  • Approach problems in an analytical and logical way with exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • Working within ITIL based approach to incident, problem, and change management.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work to facilitate upgrades and other works on our Cloud Platform.
  • Part of On-Call Rota when required, providing out-of-hours support for high-priority escalations.

Qualification/Certification requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • VMware Certified Professional e.g. VCP-DCV.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a VMware or Private Cloud support environment.
  • Strong understanding of VMware technologies, we would be interested in certifications and experience in some of the following products: vSphere, vSAN, NSX-T, NSX-V, vDefend Firewall, HCX, SDDC Manager, Site Recovery Manager, TKG for vSphere, VMware Aria Automation (vRealize Automation or vCloud Automation Centre), VMware Aria Operations, VMware Cloud Director, VMware Cloud Foundation.

Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a Managed Services Provider.
  • Backup management specifically with Veeam or Commvault.
  • Disaster Recovery with Zerto.
  • Citrix XenApp or XenDesktop.
  • Citrix Netscaler.
  • Anti-virus e.g. Microsoft Defender, ESET or Sentinal1.
  • Monitoring tools like LogicMonitor, N-Central or N-Sight.
  • PowerShell/Python scripting.
  • Basic Linux knowledge for administration.
