ING Hubs Romania offers 130 services in software development, data management, non-financial risk andamp; compliance, audit, and retail operations to 24 ING units worldwide, with the help of over 2000 hi h-performin en ineers, risk, and operations professionals.
We started out in 2015 as ING's software development hub, then steadily expanded our range to include more services and competencies. Now we provide borderless services with bank-wide capabilities and operate from two locations: Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca.
Our tech capabilities remain the core of our business, with more than 1800 colleagues active in Data Management, Touchpoint Channels andamp; Integration, Core Banking, and Global Products.

The Mission
In the Security andamp; Lending area we blend several types of products. The Security part covers projects that provide Authentication, Transaction approval and verification or Electronic Identification and Verification.
Your day to day
Even if you start your day in the comfort of your home or drink your morning coffee in our office's garden, your day will be quite similar when it comes to tasks. Here are your daily responsibilities:
- Build andamp; lead the team, motivate andamp; mentor the team and be the team representative.
- Software Development experience with Java stack technologies
- You oversee the Ihow", - how to build an efficient, high-quality solution based on the requested functionality
- Ensure the individual development of your team members, so that they can successfully fulfill the new roles and the new processes
- You are responsible for HR related activities: 1 to 1 meeting with your team members, performance management, target setting
- You work with the recruitment team to attract, onboard and retain top talent (people management activities: 40%, engineering activities 60%)
What you'll bring to the team
- You hold a University/ Master's degree in Information Technology - mandatory
- Experience with coaching and motivating team members
- Relevant experience designing Java based backend applications using following technologies, tooling, frameworks:
- Spring, SpringBoot
- DB technologies (preferably Cassandra, SQL Server, Oracle)
- Experience/Interest in any JVM programming language (Java, Kotlin, Scala), a good understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, secure coding tools (e.g. Checkmarx) is a plus
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g. Prometheus) and distributed logging (ELK stack)
- Experience with asynchronous communication (e.g. Kafka)
- Understanding of what full application lifecycle means and how to contribute to it.
- Familiar with CI andamp; CD, code quality (Azure DevOps, Gitlab)
- Experience in working using the Agile methodology
- Excellent written and spoken knowledge of English
