RF System Engineer for Satellite Test Solutions

Are you deeply passionate about RF technology and have a personal dedication to exploring its depths, perhaps even out of private interest e.g. as a radio amateur? We are seeking a talented RF Engineer with a strong interest in RF and electronic systems and a knack for software development to join our team and contribute to the development of the Terma RF-SCOE (Radio Frequency - Special CheckOut Equipment). This position is open to both junior and experienced engineers with a few years of experience, looking to further develop their expertise. As an RF system engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of space missions through the design, development, and testing the RF systems of our customers satellites.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and integrate RF systems that are used for testing space missions, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Contribute to the design phase of the project
• Develop software solutions for RF systems, including control interfaces, automation, and testing scripts.
• Conduct RF system analysis, simulations, and testing to optimize performance and reliability, leveraging your personal dedication and interest in RF technology.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers to deliver integrated RF testing solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve RF-related issues during integration and testing phases, utilizing your expertise in RF.

Additionally, you might support presales during offer creation (preliminary designs, effort estimations, costs, technical proposals and other offer documentation)

Successful candidate will actively study to stay updated with the latest advancements in RF technology and contribute innovative ideas to enhance system capabilities and software functionalities.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor, Master or PhD in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Prior experience in RF system design, development or integration.
• Good understanding of electronic systems (analogue and/or digital).
• Experience with RF measurements and electronic measurement techniques (signal generator, signal analyzer, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
• Experience with programming languages (any of the following: Python, C/C++, Java, TCL, bash scripting), with a proactive approach to learn and apply new programming skills.
• You have to be a good communicator in Romanian and English both in verbal and in written.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with communication protocols and standards relevant to RF systems. Knowledge of satellite specific protocols like e.g. PUS, ECSS, EDEN is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
• Prior experience in the aerospace or satellite industry.
• Experience with SDR systems.
• Personal dedication and interest in RF technology.

This is a full-time position to be located in Brasov, Romania with the planned start date as soon as possible.
