Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager to provide tactical and strategic leadership across multiple multidisciplinary teams within Flutter Brazil. In this role, you will combine technical depth with people leadership to ensure delivery excellence, inspire innovation, and foster a high-performance culture. You'll be pivotal in driving product delivery at scale, aligning technology with business strategy, and enabling teams to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Accountabilities & ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Delivery Leadership

• Drive the execution of multiple concurrent software projects with clear strategies, roadmaps, and quality standards.

• Own the product lifecycle, proactively managing delivery risks, capacity plans, and technical resources within budget.

• Promote a culture of quality and accountability, measuring productivity, velocity, and delivery outcomes while taking corrective action where needed.

• Champion process improvements through automation, best practices, and standardisation.

People Leadership & Development

• Lead, inspire, and manage multiple multi-discipline engineering teams and their managers.

• Provide mentorship, coaching, 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development opportunities.

• Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous learning.

• Drive employee engagement and create an environment where innovation and people thrive.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with business stakeholders, external partners, and internal technology teams to deliver aligned outcomes.

• Serve as a trusted liaison between delivery teams and senior stakeholders, ensuring visibility and alignment.

• Build collaborative relationships across PPB and Flutter divisions, encouraging open-source and shared-mindset approaches.

Strategic & Hands-On Leadership

• Combine strategic direction with hands-on technical fluency — unblocking teams, prototyping solutions, or diving into critical issues when necessary.

• Provide both management and technical reference points, shaping architectural decisions and guiding engineering excellence.

• Balance delivery at pace with long-term architectural and operational improvements.

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required

• Proven track record of leading and managing complex software projects at scale.

• Hands-on engineering mindset, with the ability to engage in coding, prototyping, or deep technical problem-solving when required.

• Strong experience working with distributed, redundant, and transactional systems.

• Expertise in Agile software delivery, roadmapping, and managing OKRs.

• Demonstrated success in managing teams across multiple disciplines and geographies.

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English and Portuguese.

• Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, with proven ability to identify and mitigate technical risks.

• Resilient, action-oriented leader who can motivate teams and deliver under pressure.

• Proven experience fostering high-performance engineering cultures.

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent technical knowledge.
