We are looking for
interns
for the
Quantity Surveyor Position
at one of our clients - an Italian industrial group specialising in construction and civil engineering.

The internship involves both theoretical courses and practice in ongoing projects within the company.

Duration:
3 months + potential development for a full time position in the company.

Course:
Quantity Surveyor (Auditor) – 144 hours. The schedule will be 8 hours/day, Monday-Friday, mostly physical presence.

Practice:
Involves relocation to one of the
construction sites in Romania
for ~2 months.

The
Quantity Surveyor
is responsible for managing all aspects of the cost estimation, financial management, and contractual administration related to the company's construction projects. The role involves working closely with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure the project is executed within budget while maintaining the required standards.:

In detail:

1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects based on project specifications and design drawings.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring they align with the approved budget.
  • Provide accurate forecasts and financial reports for ongoing and upcoming projects.

2. Contract Administration:

  • Administer contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are met and manage any variations or claims.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and quality.

3. Cost Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor and track project expenditures, comparing actual costs with the budgeted amounts.
  • Prepare regular cost reports for project management and senior leadership.
  • Identify and manage any risks that may impact project costs and propose mitigation strategies.

4. Tender Management:

  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, bills of quantities, and other documentation for project bids.
  • Analyze and evaluate tenders from suppliers and subcontractors, providing recommendations to the project team.

5. Risk and Value Management:

  • Identify potential risks related to project costs, timelines, and quality.
  • Provide value engineering input to optimize project resources and minimize unnecessary expenditures.

6. Change Management:

  • Evaluate and manage changes to project scope and assess the impact on project costs.
  • Ensure all changes are documented and reflected in cost reports and project forecasts.

7. Final Account Preparation:

  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts with clients and subcontractors, ensuring timely settlement of accounts at project completion.
  • Assist with closing out project finances in a timely manner, ensuring all costs are accounted for.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proficient in English;
  • Good Knowledge of Excel.
