Role Description:
The Workflows Engineering team are recruiting Quality Automation Engineers to play a crucial role in our organisation. The successful candidates will become part of an engineering team addressing complex challenges and taking these to resolution. This provides a phenomenal opportunity for individuals who enjoy solving a variety of problems and who relish the chance to lead the resolution of exciting and new challenges on a regular basis.

The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to build and implement the technical strategy for a set of Engineering Products within our Post Trade group. They will ensure business requirements are applied and lean on their experience of software quality engineering and development lifecycles to lead change in exciting software challenges and customer solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of automation technologies and/or subjective matter expert knowledge of a technology, advising others on design, development and implementation of automated testing solutions
• Advances tools and applications by producing expert code and producing the right solutions needed
• Manages own workload and promotes an inclusive and open culture
• Is regarded as the point of contact in their domain by showing significant depth of knowledge and expertise in quality automation engineering
• Understands how the technology / domain strategy relates to and impacts own work, supporting the implementation of strategy within all work. Contributes to strategy definition where appropriate
• Develops an understanding of the market and LSEG's commercial position in it
• Contributes meaningful to multiple projects, working autonomously and with little direction
• Collaborates with software engineering teams to define and implement quality assurance automation solutions
• Supports design work and planning for Epics breaking them down to stories with product owners and software engineering leads
• Adapts existing patterns to develop robust solutions
• Builds positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other teams. Communicates challenging technical information clearly and concisely in an audience appropriate format
• Continues to develop technology and industry expertise through certifications, professional qualifications

Occasionally, overtime or weekend hours will be requested as communicated by the people leader.

Candidate Profile / Key Skills:
Nice to have:

• Professional qualification or equivalent
• Basic financial understanding of trading systems and financial markets.
• Experience or familiarity with financial messaging systems - particularly FIX

Must Have:

• Significant knowledge of at least one automation programming language (Java and C# are the main requirements but others will be a bonus too)
• Ideally Experience in automation technologies for testing applications delivering REST and WebSocket services for API and browser-based apps. Knowledge of testing and using SQL data stores (Oracle/SQLServer), Redis, Azure - PaaS (EventHub, AzureSQL, Kubernetes, AzureCache, etc), GitLab CI - or AWS equivalents.
• Knowledge of test planning and reporting, BDD and browser-based testing frameworks (cucumber, Selenium and equivalents)
• Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis, Software Engineering, delivery management, and / or Emerging Technology and Governance.
• Significant experience in an automated Quality Assurance and software delivery role
