Vertiv Service business is designed to provide full life-cycle service support for our customers and as such is a core part of the Vertiv market offering. On site activity is a crucial element of Vertiv Service organization around the world. Vertiv CEs are doing hundreds of thousands of visits every year to maintain the critical infrastructure devices supporting Vertiv Customer applications. 

Technical competence and expertise are distinctive attributes of Vertiv Service and a source of competitive edge being able to optimize a unit, a site, or a whole network. To do that the Services tools and applications used by our customer engineers are crucial to capture data in an efficient way to be analyzed by our experts and provide recommendations to optimize every system or site.

Low code applications are becoming a preferred solution to develop applications for Android and iOS platforms, or PWA implementations to deploy around the globe and changing/adapting them quickly to fulfill customer expectations. Vertiv is looking for low code app developers to implement our Services application to cover on site activities. 

He / She will be part of an organization reporting to the CTO which includes:

• Subject matter experts on Vertiv Technologies 
• Data architect 
• Reporting programmers
• Product owners

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: 

This position will report directly to the Global Services Reporting Manager, who reports to the Global Services Platform organization.

ESSENTIAL ROLE FUNCTIONS: 

• Work with architects, subject matter experts and product owner to design & implement appropriate technical solutions based on the FDD (Functional Design Document) and TDD (Technical Design Document)
• Design low-level technical solutions using the Mendix platform.
• Estimate effort required to develop specific functionalities
• Develop the functionality and automatize the test of the user cases if required
• Apply design & system architecture skills to ensure continual increase in performance and stability of the core system
• Document the solution and support defining tests for each sprint

• Support junior developers and testers during the development process

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Define and put in place best practices to optimize development and test effort.

POSITION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

The Senior Low code platform developer should have background in programming Service Tools oriented to capture data during on site interventions in industries like Utilities, Telecom, Bank, Retail or any industry with thousands of sites and multiple technologies to be served. It is crucial to understand Low code platforms concept. 

In this kind of application, the human interface is paramount, and the solution needs to be oriented to minimize the effort and increase the efficiency of the on-site activity. 

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, or relevant technical studies
• At least 5 years development experience and 1-2 years of experience in Mendix (preferable), OutSystems, AppSheet, Power Apps or similar platforms
• Advanced level certification in a low code platform is preferred, but not mandatory
• Good knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data models
• Knowledge of server-side programming languages. Other front-end technologies are a plus, but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of JavaScript is preferred, but not mandatory
• Good understanding of the SW development lifecycle, versioning and repository management, Agile methodology and familiar with project management and tracking tools like Rally or Jira
• Understanding of service-oriented architectures & distributed computing concepts
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Strong Communication skills and capabilities to establish relationships with internal customer at top level

• Fluent English speaker. Other languages as Italian, Spanish, French or German are a plus, but not mandatory.
