Project Context
We are urgently seeking an experienced
Microsoft Fabric Consultant
to support a high-priority bid response. The consultant will be responsible for both the
effort estimation
(initial phase) and the
implementation/configuration
(subsequent phase) of a Microsoft Fabric-based data platform migration project.

This is a time-sensitive engagement requiring immediate availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert assessment of effort and resources required to migrate data from on-premises systems (SQL, FTP, etc.) to Microsoft Fabric
  • Translate proposed hybrid architecture (Azure ADLS Gen2 Fabric Power BI) into executable technical tasks
  • Implement data migration processes using ADF (Azure Data Factory) and shortcuts between Data Lake and Fabric
  • Configure Microsoft Fabric Workspaces, including Gold/Platinum layer setup and shortcuts to/from ADLS Gen2
  • Enable integration with Power BI Dedicated Capacity and downstream analytics layers (frontend and AI/data science consumers)
  • Support data governance and cataloging using Unity Catalog (Databricks SQL integration)
  • Collaborate with frontend and data science teams to ensure clean, accessible data for visualization and AI workflows
  • Work in coordination with DevOps and key security elements such as Azure Key Vault, Private DNS, and PEP enabled access

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Fabric, including setup, configuration, and workspace optimization
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2), ADF pipelines, and Databricks SQL
  • Experience implementing data lakehouse architectures and layered data models (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum)
  • Expertise in Power BI integrations and dedicated capacity performance tuning
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and infrastructure security best practices
  • Solid understanding of data governance tools such as Unity Catalog
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to deliver quickly in time-sensitive, agile projects

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with on-premise to cloud migrations
  • Exposure to AI/ML data pipelines and collaboration with data science teams
  • Certifications in Azure Data Engineer, Fabric Specialist, or Power Platform
