QA Automation Engineer

Bucharest Metropolitan Area, Romania QA DNA Full time €104,000 - €130,878 per year

Quality Assurance (QA) remains one of the biggest unsolved challenges in software development. Companies spend over $20 billion every year on software testing in Europe and the United States alone, and yet critical bugs still reach production. Teams lose time, customers lose trust, and products lose momentum.

If you're a
recent graduate or early in your tech career
, this is a great place to start. You'll work on real problems, learn fast, and see the impact of your work right away.

You might be wondering: why Software Quality Engineering?

Developers focus on building features. QA Engineers focus on making sure those features work properly together, in real-world scenarios, for actual users. But this is not a support role or a less technical path. Quality Engineering can be just as challenging, hands-on, and impactful as development. It depends on how you approach it.

This is an engineering role that requires you to think about systems, dependencies, edge cases, and how to design checks that prevent failure before it happens. It's not easier. It's not lower-paid. It's just a different area of expertise that demands its own deep skill set.

In this role, you'll work across teams, help define how quality is built into products, and grow fast by solving problems that affect users directly.

At QA DNA, this is exactly the kind of thinking we apply every day.
We work with software product teams to build automated testing setups that are reliable, scalable, and built for the real world. Our approach is hands-on and focused. We use the right tools, lean on solid engineering practices, and stay close to how modern teams actually build software.

This involves building a culture of quality, and we believe that starts with people
(like you?)
. We invest in young professionals, give them hands-on experience, and help them grow into engineers who understand the real impact of their work.

We're looking for a QA Automation Engineer to join our team
. You will be an integral part of delivering a high-quality experience for the users of the products we support. This is a hands-on, technical role where your work will directly impact how real software performs in the real world.

Who We're Looking For

A QA Automation Engineer who is:

  • Hands-on experience in Automation/Development and overall programming knowhow
  • A genuine interest in programming or a technical background (such as a technical university or related studies)
  • Proactive, action-oriented, and eager to contribute from day one
  • Open to feedback and communication (introverts welcome too)
  • Comfortable with coding and automation tools (we're tech-agnostic—what matters is how you think)
  • Skilled in English (written and spoken)
  • Interested in working in a hybrid setup, with occasional in-person collaboration

Why Join Us?

  • Work in a dynamic learning environment where your ideas are valued and supported
  • Hands-on mentorship to grow your skills in QA, automation, and overall business mindset
  • Be a part of a collaborative team of engineers at heart, creative, out-of-the-box thinkers, most of us with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Own your impact: No micromanaging here. We trust you to take the lead, make smart calls, and own your work like it matters because it
    does
    .

Perks of joining QA DNA

  • Competitive salary and a clear growth path
  • Certifications in any tech direction that you find relevant or attractive
  • Flexibility: we care more about the job being done than having a strict schedule (but we need you to be an engaged team member, so that means some office presence required)
