Role Overview:

As a QA Engineer Intern, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful release of high-quality software solutions to our valued customers. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into our products and witness the behind-the-scenes operations at Betfair.

You will work closely with our experienced QA team to contribute to our commitment to quality and excellence.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the QA team to understand product requirements and testing objectives
• Assist in the development of test plans and strategies for upcoming releases
• Create and maintain detailed test cases based on product specifications
• Execute manual and automated tests to identify software defects and ensure product quality
• Document and track defects using designated tools and collaborate with developers for timely resolution
• Participate in regression testing to ensure that new updates do not impact existing functionality
• Contribute to the creation and management of test data sets required for testing
• Continuously learn and adapt to the latest testing methodologies and tools
• Provide clear and concise feedback on software quality and testing progress
• Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases and test reports

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:

• Attention to detail: Thoroughly review software to identify and report even minor issues
• Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex systems into testable components
• Communication: Clearly convey defects and testing progress to the team
• Testing Tools: Familiarity with testing tools such as Selenium, Jira or Playwright
• Basic Programming Knowledge: Understanding of programming languages (e.g. Java, Typescript) for test automation support
• Critical Thinking: Ability to think creatively to identify potential problem areas
• Problem Solving: Skill in troubleshooting and finding solutions to technical challenges
• Time Management: Effectively prioritize and manage tasks to meet deadlines
• Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies and tools
• Team Player: Collaborative mindset to work effectively within a team environment
