Job Summary:

This role focuses on:

• Executing standard catastrophe modelling tasks
• Supporting pricing and accumulation processes
• Contributing to method and tool development
• Participating in modelling projects and research

Key Responsibilities:

Cat Modelling & Pricing Support:

• Support treaty reinsurance modelling for onshore pricing teams
• Analyze exposure data and run catastrophe models
• Assist with catastrophe risk pricing and accumulation monitoring
• Ensure compliance with internal processes and guidelines
• Collaborate with both nearshore and onshore teams
• Contribute to MGA dashboards and SBS Cat modelling
• Help train interns during renewals and projects

Tool & Process Improvement:

• Assist in enhancing modelling workflows, tools (e.g. xAct), and processes
• Identify opportunities for automation and standardization

Data & Analytics:

• Contribute to tool development, testing, and maintenance with IT
• Analyze data to support pricing and business decisions
• Maintain and streamline internal dataflows (e.g. PANEL, ARC Sandbox, Foundry)

Projects & Research:

• Support research and projects on Nat Cat hazards, model behaviour, and vulnerabilities
• Learn to interpret vendor models and lead small projects

Required Experience & Competencies:

• Some experience in financial services, preferably reinsurance or actuarial work
• Proficient in Excel; knowledge of SQL, GIS; programming in R or Python
• Familiarity with RMS RiskLink/RiskModeller or AIR Touchstone is a plus
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative team player
• Knowledge of data science, predictive modelling, machine learning, and AI is a plus

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, physics, economics, or similar (Master's/PhD is a plus)
• English: B2 level (CECRL)
