Job Introduction

The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These 'Control Centre Solutions' are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 250+ colleagues and is growing.

This position has a strong focus on creating automated non-functional tests and occasionally it implies contribution to developing functional tests.

The test engineer, in this position, will have a major contribution to the development of a safety critical software product utilized in regional or country wide emergency call centers.

Key Tasks

  • Contribute to the development of performance testing scenarios based on non-functional requirements, system architecture and reported defects
  • Occasionally contribute to the development of automated functional test scenarios
  • Collect test results to generate test reports and test summaries
  • Investigate test results and raise defects to the appropriate development team
  • Learn, follow and aim to improve the software development processes agreed with the rest of the team
  • Understand and apply OOP programming principles throughout the development activities for automated tests

Key Qualifications

  • Results oriented person – get things done attitude
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on automated testing experience on integrated software systems and some experience with load testing
  • Experienced with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experienced with Java. JBehave and Groovy would be an advantage
  • Good English knowledge, both written and verbally
  • ISTQB certification is an advantage
  • IP based communications knowhow (SIP/RTP) is an advantage
