Senior Software Architect

We are seeking an experienced
Telecom Core Network Architect
with proven
Solution / Software Architect
deep expertise in mobile networks, software design, and cloud-native architectures. This role combines advanced telecom systems knowledge with software engineering skills, focusing on building scalable, high-performance systems in a virtualized and hybrid cloud environment. The successful candidate will serve as a technical leader and evangelist, collaborating across development, QA, and operations teams globally to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Telecom Core Network Architecture

• Architect and optimize mobile core network systems, including OSS/BSS platforms, Prepaid/Postpaid Billing, HSS/HLR, UDM, PCRF, AAA, etc.
• Design and implement scalable solutions for mediation platforms, fraud management systems, and network elements (e.g., MMSC).
• Leverage expertise in protocols like Diameter, SS7, SIP, HTTP/2, REST, SOAP, and LDAP to ensure robust communication frameworks.
• Conduct end-to-end assessments of infrastructure solutions and create strategies for cloud-native or hybrid deployments.
• Provide guidance on transitioning legacy network systems to VNF, CNF, and microservice-based architectures.

Software Architecture and Development

• Lead the design and implementation of software systems using microservices and containerized architectures.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Develop and debug APIs, focusing on Cloud API integration and microservice orchestration.
• Architect and deploy applications in virtualized and containerized environments using OpenStack, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
• Oversee software development efforts using languages like Java, C, Python, Ruby on Rails, React, and Golang, ensuring high automation and maintainability.

Presales and Thought Leadership Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with sales teams to engage with clients, understand technical requirements, and address business challenges through tailored solutions.
• Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and technical queries, preparing comprehensive technical proposals, including solution designs, architecture diagrams, and effort estimates.
• Develop and deliver impactful technical presentations, solution demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (POC) implementations to showcase capabilities.
• Conduct technical workshops and discovery sessions with customers, aligning solutions with business objectives and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Act as a technical advisor, articulating the value and differentiation of proposed solutions and building strong customer relationships to drive solution adoption.
• Provide feedback to product teams based on customer needs to influence roadmaps and feature development.
• Stay updated on market trends, competitor offerings, and customer challenges to guide solution positioning and differentiation strategies.
• Lead thought leadership efforts by authoring white papers, blogs, and research articles on emerging trends in telecom and cloud-native architectures.
• Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and webinars to share insights, build brand visibility, and establish industry leadership.
• Participate in industry forums and standards bodies (e.g., 3GPP, ETSI, TM Forum) to influence evolving frameworks and stay informed of changes.
• Mentor internal teams through workshops, technical sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to foster innovation and continuous learning.

Cloud and Virtualization

• Design hybrid and cloud-native solutions leveraging platforms like Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OpenStack.
• Implement virtualization and containerization strategies, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
• Develop Elastic/Open Search-based solutions and implement database strategies using relational, LDAP, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB and Cassandra.

Leadership and Collaboration

• Act as a technical evangelist for core network and software solutions, mentoring teams and fostering innovation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional global teams, including development, QA, and operations, to achieve project objectives.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and frameworks to ensure continuous improvement.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving

• Analyze system issues with strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in Linux environments (RedHat/Ubuntu).
• Address networking-related challenges, including DNS, TCP/IP, and HTTP(S).
• Manage time effectively, ensuring priorities align with project goals and deadlines.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.

Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in mobile networks and telecom systems architecture.
• 12+ years of experience in software development and cloud-based architecture design.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and virtualized environments.

Technical Skills:

• Expert knowledge of OSS/BSS systems, CRM, billing platforms, and network elements like AAA, UDM, and HLR.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Ruby, Golang, and React.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD, container orchestration, and cloud-native tools.
• Deep understanding of telecom and cloud protocols (e.g., Diameter, SS7, SIP, LDAP).
