Position Overview

We are looking for a HIL Test Engineer / Validation Engineer
 with strong expertise in 
Vector toolchain
 and 
real-time embedded systems
. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and execute automated test cases for automotive ECUs using 
vTest Studio, CANoe, and CAPL scripting
. This role requires a solid understanding of 
real-time systems
 and ECU simulations to ensure test cases reflect both functional and timing-critical aspects of automotive communication networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain automated test cases using 
    Vector vTest Studio
     and 
    CAPL scripting
    .
  • Perform 
    HIL/SIL testing
     for automotive ECUs, ensuring test coverage across communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
  • Create and update 
    ECU simulation models
     based on communication matrices (DBC, ARXML).
  • Develop new restbus simulations or adapt existing Vector CANoe configurations
     for ECU validation.
  • Execute and analyze tests in 
    Vector CANoe / VT System
    , logging results and identifying root causes of test failures.
  • Ensure tests account for 
    real-time constraints
    , such as signal timing, latency, and deadline compliance.
  • Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and test managers to refine test specifications and improve coverage.
  • Support integration of test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Document test cases, results, and provide feedback for quality improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience with 
    Vector vTest Studio
     and 
    Vector CANoe/VT System
    .
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in 
    CAPL
    .
  • Solid understanding of 
    real-time systems
     and ECU behavior under timing constraints.
  • Hands-on experience with 
    ECU simulation and communication matrix handling (DBC, ARXML)
    .
  • Capacity to 
    create restbus simulations or adapt existing CANoe configurations
    .
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
  • Experience with 
    test automation, logging, and debugging
     in embedded environments.
  • Knowledge of automotive development standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE) is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python or other scripting languages for tool automation.
  • Exposure to HIL platforms (dSPACE, NI, Vector VT System).
  • Understanding of automotive diagnostics (UDS, OBD-II).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab) in testing workflows.
