The Role
AspenTech is looking for a highly motivated Principal Commissions Analyst to take a lead role in driving our sales commission plans, calculations, and audit accuracy globally. This role will be working cross-functionally with the Sales Org, Sales Ops, Financial Planning & Analysis, Accounting, Payroll, Legal, and HR teams and will be responsible for commissions and bonus operations including variable compensation calculations, reporting, and analysis.
Your Impact
- Prepare, calculate, and analyze the monthly commissions payout in accordance with monthly/quarterly cadence.
- Support the Accounting team in preparation of monthly accruals and reconciliations for commissions accounting.
- Provide detailed and accurate reporting to the Sales leadership on compensation models, projections, attainment and other KPIs.
- Serve as Point of Contact for all commissions related questions and provide answers to the sales and sales management teams and maintain regular customer service via Ivanti tickets.
- Develop and build relationships with internal customers (Sales and Sales Ops) to resolve problems, answer any commission related questions or investigate and research open issues.
- Distribute and track completeness of compensation plan sign-off from sales personnel to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Maintain, document, and adhere to internal controls to ensure SOX and policy compliance.
- Build documentation to effectively handle all commissions related processes.
- Develop, maintain, and update tool necessary to sales commissions reporting.
- Perform complex ad hoc analysis as required in support of Sales or Finance Organizations.
- Support initiatives to improve our Sales Commissions processes, tools, or integration with new business lines.
What You'll Need
- 5-10 years of tech company experience in Finance/Accounting preferably with experience as commissions administrator.
- BS/BA in Finance, Accounting or other quantitative fields preferred.
- 2+ years' experience with Varicent or similar compensation tool.
- Experience with CRM/HRIS systems like Salesforce and Workday.
- Organizational skills and change management for working with large quantities of data.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic setting while maintaining accuracy and delivering against deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
