About the Role

We are seeking a
highly skilled Senior Java Engineer
with strong experience in
Oracle databases
and
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
to join our Credit Risk technology team in Bucharest. The successful candidate will work on critical systems that support risk analysis, regulatory reporting, and finance operations, contributing to the stability, scalability, and performance of our global credit risk platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain
    high-performance Java applications for credit risk management and reporting.
  • Collaborate with risk analysts, finance teams, and business stakeholders to
    translate business requirements into technical solutions
    .
  • Work with
    Oracle databases
    for data modelling, optimisation, and integration with Java services.
  • Build and deploy solutions on
    Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
    , leveraging cloud-native services for scalability and performance.
  • Participate in
    end-to-end software development lifecycle
    , including design reviews, code reviews, and testing.
  • Ensure compliance with
    regulatory and security standards
    for financial applications.
  • Optimise application performance, improve resilience, and contribute to platform stabilisation.
  • Support production systems, including incident investigation and resolution in coordination with DevOps and support teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years
    professional experience in Java development (Java 8+ preferred).
  • Strong hands-on experience with
    Oracle RDBMS
    (SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning).
  • Experience building and deploying solutions on
    Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
    .
  • Proven background in
    credit risk systems
    or related financial services technology.
  • Familiarity with
    risk data models
    , regulatory reporting concepts, and credit exposure calculations.
  • Solid understanding of
    microservices architecture
    and REST API development.
  • Experience with
    version control (Git)
    , CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
