We are assisting our client – a Cluj-based company developing GIS (Geographic Information System) and digital mapping solutions – in recruiting a
Junior Project Manager (Python Focus)
.

This is a generalist role within a small, cross-functional team, ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats, learning new things, and taking ownership across different areas of the business. You'll be involved in coordinating projects, supporting product-related activities, and collaborating with external partners who handle development and infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the coordination and management of internal digital products (e.g., web GIS platforms, digital maps).
  • Coordinate with external development and IT partners on software and infrastructure needs.
  • Write or review Python code (mandatory part of the role) for product maintenance, automation, or testing.
  • Support the integration and testing of new features.
  • Help ensure ongoing product stability and maintenance.
  • Provide basic internal IT support and assist in infrastructure-related coordination (e.g., backups, servers).

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

  • 1–2 years of experience working with Python
    (e.g., scripting, automation, or development work).
  • Interest in digital product development.
  • General understanding of web technologies and APIs.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • A proactive, flexible, and curious attitude.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience as a
    Project Manager
    or
    Product Manager

  • Familiarity with GIS tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS Pro).
  • Understanding of software lifecycles, version control, or testing practices.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • General awareness of IT infrastructure.

About the Company

Our client is a company with an office of 20–30 employees in Cluj, focused on digital mapping and GIS-based products used across Romania and Europe. Development and infrastructure are currently managed via external partners, and the company is now looking to strengthen its internal capacity with a versatile new team member who can help bridge technical and business areas.
