The Accountant plays a key role within the internal accounting team, ensuring accurate financial management, compliance with Romanian accounting standards, and timely reporting to support effective business decisions. This role involves a mix of technical accounting tasks, regulatory compliance, and collaboration across departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping:
    Record and categorise financial transactions using accounting software or manually, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Romanian accounting standards.
  • Invoice Processing:
    Generate, verify, and process invoices for goods and services, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
  • Financial Reporting:
    Prepare financial statements—including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements—providing management with a clear view of the company's financial position.
  • Bank Reconciliations:
    Monitor and reconcile bank accounts regularly to ensure accurate cash flow records.
  • Expense Management:
    Track and manage company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with internal policies.
  • Compliance:
    Stay updated on changes in accounting and tax regulations, ensuring company practices remain aligned with legal requirements.
  • Communication with Tax Authorities:
    Prepare and submit required documentation, respond to inquiries, and ensure adherence to tax obligations.
  • Audit Preparation:
    Support both internal and external audits by compiling documentation and ensuring the accuracy of records.
  • Management Reporting:
    Deliver ad-hoc financial and operational reports to assist management decision-making.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Solid knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax regulations.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel in particular).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate within the accounting team and with other departments.
  • Business acumen and analytical skills to contribute to financial planning and operational efficiency.
