Job Description
AECOM
is seeking a talented Data Cloud Engineer to join our growing team of analytics experts.
Responsibilities:
- Design, construct, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
- Develop and optimize data pipeline architectures for large-scale data processing.
- Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry best practices.
- Build high-performance algorithms, predictive models, and prototypes.
- Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.
- Develop data set processes for data modeling, mining, and production.
- Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
- Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
- Collaborate with data architects, modelers, and IT team members on project goals.
- Optimize data infrastructure for performance, scalability, and reliability
This position will offer a hybrid work schedule, including both remote and in office work arrangements based from our office in Bucharest.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 5+ years as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
- 3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms (big 3).
- Proficiency in programming languages (Python, Java, or Scala)
- Experience with database management and data warehousing solutions.
- Experience with big data tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of serverless computing and building serverless applications.
- Ability to design and manage geo-agnostic servers and distributed systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- Expertise with machine learning and data analytics.
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
- Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer).
